Alfred J. Gagne served in World War II. He served with the 125th Field Artillery from Duluth in the European Theater. He served in France and Germany.
Mr. Gagne was a firefighter in West Duluth at Station No. 8 for twenty-three years. He died on the job in 1952.
Alfred and his wife, Tillie, were lifetime members of VFW Post #1217 in Duluth, Minnesota. Tillie was the piano player for the VFW Auxiliary Post #1217 for more than twenty-five years. She also served as a flag bearer and participated for many years in the Post's volunteer programs aiding disabled veterans, etc., until her death in 1972.
