Alexander Propotnick was inducted into the Army on April 28, 1942, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Hibbing, Minnesota.
He served as a Technician 4th Grade and radio operator with Company B of the 3111th Signal Service Battalion in Algeria-Fr. Morocco and Tunisia, North Africa; Sicily; Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes, and Central Europe.
Mr. Propotnick was awarded the following: Bronze Star Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with eight bronze battle stars, and the World War II Victory Medal five overseas service bars and Bronze Arrowhead.
He was honorably discharged on July 21, 1945, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota.
