Albin F. Boben
Mr. Boben entered the Naval Reserve on May 31, 1943. Home at entry: Duluth, Minnesota.
He served as a Coxswain aboard the destroyer USS McCall (DD 400) in the Pacific Theater and China Sea. He participated in the invasions of Marshall Islands, Palau, Samar, Wodke, Hollandia, Aitape, Saipan, Tinian, Guam, Iwo Jima, Okinawa, Luzon, and Leyte Philippines. Also participated on several raids on Truk, on Chichi Jima, and HaHa Jima in Bonin (Volcano) Islands.
He received the following: Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with eight bronze battle stars, Philippine Liberation Medal with two bronze stars, and World War II Victory Medal.
Mr. Boben was honorably discharged on February 10, 1946, at Great Lakes, Illinois.
