Albert Rich served during World War II.
He and his four brothers—Michael, Nicholas, Patrick, and Tony Rich—all served during the war.
Mr. Rich served in the U.S. Army. He entered service in November 1941. He trained with 609th Tank Destroyer Battalion Medical Detachment at Camp Hood, Texas. He served in France under General George Patton. His tank was hit, and he was thrown out by the force of the impact. They wanted him to go to a hospital for a few days. Instead, he took his time off and went to Paris.
Mr. Rich was born in Duluth, Minnesota, the son of Nick and Dora Rich. He graduated from Denfeld High School. He went to Civil Conservation Corps camp. He later worked at Zenith Furnace and for the school board.
