Albert Kobbe of Eveleth, Minnesota was inducted into the Army on March 23, 1942 at Fort Snelling, Minn.
He was a Technician 5th Grade and drove light trucks for the 1398th Engineer Construction Battalion in the Eastern Mandates and the Ryukyu Islands.
Mr. Kobbe received the: Meritorious Service Unit Citation, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with two bronze battle stars, American Campaign Defense Service Medal, World War II Victory Medal and three overseas service bars.
He was honorably discharged on December 10, 1945 at Camp McCoy, Wis.
