KOLLATH, Albert John
Albert "Al" John Kollath was born November 23rd 1918 to Albert Henry & Catharina [Walchshausl] in Remer Minnesota. The family moved to Duluth early in Al's childhood and he has remained in Duluth since then. He graduated from Duluth Cathedral High School in 1938.
Mr. Kollath enlisted in the U.S. Army on September 1st 1942 during World War II. He served in the European Theater.
TEC3 Kollath was honorably discharged on December 1st 1945. After the war he returned home and married Eunice Lorene Zuck and they started a family.
He resumed his interrupted railroad career until his retirement in 1980. He was a member of the VFW Post 137. He was a member of St. Benedict's Catholic Parish. He also volunteered at St. Luke's Hospital.
Albert "Al" John Kollath died March 6th 2003 at the age of 84. He is buried at Sunrise Memorial Park Cemetery in Hermantown, Minnesota.
