Albert A. Helen of Embarrass, Minnesota, was inducted into the Army on July 8, 1942 at Fort Snelling, Minn.
He was a Private First Class and truck driver in Company C, 376th Engineer Battalion in Rome-Arno, Italy; Rhineland and Central Europe.
Mr. Helen was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle East Campaign Medal with three bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal and five overseas service bars.
He was honorably discharged November 3, 1945 at Camp McCoy, Wis.
