Mr. LeMieux served in World War I.

He served in the U.S. Navy. He was assigned to the battleships U.S.S. Rhode Island and U.S.S. Massachusetts (BB-2) and an oil tender and submarine tender. He also worked in the Philadelpia Navy Yard and at Norfolk Naval Base in Virginia.

Mr. LeMieux was among the last surviving veterans of World War I, and was the last surviving World War I veteran of Fod du Lac Reservation, when he died on December 9, 1999.
