Arthur J. Johnson was born in Soudan in 1894.
He attended schools in Tower, Minnesota and Soudan, Minnesota and worked for the Duluth Missabe & Iron Range Railway.
He was inducted into the Army in September 1917 during World War I. He served in France as a sergeant and a trench mortar specialist. After the war he was a track foreman for the DM&IR.
He died in 1962.
