He was a harness maker at Marshall-Wells Hardware Co. before he was in WWI.
He appears to have been stationed in Lynbrook, New York, at the time the U.S.S. Northern Pacific ran aground off Fire Island, NY. The U.S.S. Northern Pacific was carrying many American soldiers sick with influenza.
