ANDERS, Robert Leroy

Robert Leroy Anders was born on June 10th 1941. His hometown was Grand Rapids, Minnesota.

Mr. Anders enlisted in the U.S. Navy on April 1st 1965. He served as a Unrestricted Line Officer (Surface Warfare) in his 3 years of service in the Navy. He rose to the rank of Lieutenant (LT).

LT Anders arrived in Vietnam and was assigned to Coastal Surveillance Center (Vung Tau), Coastal Surveillance Force, Task Force 115 (TF-115), U.S. Naval Forces Vietnam (USNAVFORV). He was killed while serving in action in Phuoc Tuy Province, South Vietnam on February 2, 1969.

He earned the following merits for his service:

★ National Defense Service Medal,

★ Vietnam Campaign Medal,

★ Vietnam Service Medal,

★ Navy Presidential Unit Citation,

★ Vietnam Gallantry Cross,
