Myra M. Stead
Myra M. Stead served in the Navy during the Vietname era.
Ms. Stead was born in Misissippi and in 1961, at the age of 18, enlisted in the U.S. Navy. She trained at Great Lakes, Illinois to become a hospital corpsman.
Ms. Stead was to be assigned to Camp Penddlton in California but a serious leg injury reseulted in her being discharged from military service.
Ms. Stead moved to northern Minnesota and raised a family She is spotlighted on the Salute to Servicewomen traveling exhibit produced by the St. Louis County Historical Society.
