JAMES, Michael Ray
Michael Ray James was born on September 30th 1947 to Roby & Bernie Theresa [Wesolowskii] James in Detroit, Michigan. The family moved to Duluth, Minnesota, He graduated from Duluth Central High School in 1965.
Mr. James was inducted into the U.S. Marine Corps. He was assigned 3rd Marine Amphibious Force, 1sr Marine Aircraft Wing, 16th Marine Aircraft Group, 16th Marine Air Base Squadron. His tour of duty in Vietnam began on December 2nd 1968. He rose to the rank of Corporal (CPL).
CPL James was killed in action in a helicopter crash in Tam Kỳ, Quảng Nam province in South Vietnam on January 11th 1970. He is buried in Greenwood Cemetery in Superior, Wisconsin.
