Merlin Ray Allen

Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Merlin R. Allen, son of Mr. And Mrs. Alden Allen ,of Little Sand Bay and York Island, was killed in action in Vietnam July 3.

The Defense Department reported Corporal Allen, a radioman, was killed while in a helicopter that was under fire. He enlisted immediately after graduation from Bayfield High School Bayfield, Wisconsin with the class of 1965.
