ZALLAR, Martin Frank "Butch"
Martin Frank Zallar Jr. was born on February 2nd 1947 to Martin Frank & Katherine Josephine "Katie" [Godec] Zallar.in Cook, Minnesota, He graduated from Silverdale and Orr schools for High School, and then went on to attend North Hennepin Community College in 1976.
Mr. Zallar served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was with A Company., 2nd Battalion., 237th Division. and C Company., 2 Battalion., 502th Division Parachute Infantry of the 502nd Division Parachute Infantry of the 101st Airborne ("Screaming Eagles") Division.
He received the Purple Heart after he was severely wounded.
Butch married Carol [Soyring] on Februaryy. 23rd 1969, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Hopkins, Minnesota
Mr. Zallar died on December 17th 2008, in Cook, Minnesota, at the age of 61. He is buried at St. Bridgets in Greaney Cemetery.
