Kenneth Burrell

The following story was taken from an interview conducted by Miss Ebony Burrell, a student at Ordean Middle School and daughter of Mr. Kenneth A. Burrell.

The narrative tells the story of Burrell’s experience in Vietnam.

At the age of 16, Kenneth Burrell volunteered to serve his country and go to Vietnam. Burrell served with the 101st Airborne from 1969 to 1976.

He felt because of the attitude of the people at that time, he was fighting two wars - one at home and one in Vietnam. Burrell also had to deal with significant racism while serving.
