KELLER, Dodd Clifton
Dodd Clifton Keller was born on April 18th 1943 to Clifford Rufus & Fern Adeline [Schumann] Keller in Duluth, Minnesota.
Mr. Keller's was inducted in the US Army as a light weapons infantryman. He was assigned the 1st Cavalry Division, 1st Battalion, 12th Cavalry, Company A. He rose to the rank of Private First Class (PFC).
PFC Keller's tour of Vietnam began on December 22nd 1965. He was killed in action (KIA) on February 1st 1966 in the Quang Tri Province of South Vietnam. He was killed by hostile small arms fire.
He earned the following merits for his service:
- National Defense Service Medal,
- Cobat Infantryman Badge,
- Vietnam Campaign Medal,
- Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation,
- Vietnam Service Medal, -and-
- Purple Heart (posthumously).
PFC Keller's body was rrecoverd and returned home. He is buried at Forest Hill Cemetery in Duluth. He is also honored on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall in Washington, DC.
