David Lenox Banks
PFC Banks was born on November 11, 1948. He lived in Duluth, Minnesota several years while growing up. He enlisted in the Marines immediately after graduating from Superior Senior High School.
He was killed while serving in action on April 21, 1969 near Da Nang.
He suffered chest and left arm wounds several days before his death and had been taken to the hospital ship USS Sanctuary for treatment.
PFC Banks was the second son that the Banks family lost in the Vietnam War. His brother, Lt. John L. Banks III, was killed in a plane crash on March 29, 1966.
