David Anderson

The following is taken from an interview by Mallory Johnson, an Ordean Middle School student.
David served in the Vietnam War from November 1971 to August 1975. He was on a ship in Long Beach, California for 2 years and then spent 2 years in Brimington, Washington.

When asked what were some things that affected him in the war he said, β€œI was thankful that I grew up in the United States. I appreciated more things in life, [and had more] compassion over people that were sick or injured.”

His interviewer also asked how he felt about leaving his family. He responded by saying, β€œIt was tough at first. My father was in WWII and [I] thought it was my duty to serve the country.”
