Joy Collins-Baxter
Joy Collins-Baxter was just one of many who were separated from their families during Operation Desert Storm.
She is a member of the Duluth-based Army National Guard 109th Light Equipment Maintenance Company.
She left behind a husband with two small children. Her Husband, Jeff, was also called away, at a later date, to active duty in the Marine Corps Reserves.
Today they are together again and getting their lives back in shape. She was lucky enough to be able to return for her children ages 2 and 5, who weren’t coping well without her.
She recalls that the hysteria in all the families of the 109th was at its peak.
