Ross Jones

Ross had been a longtime resident of Duluth, Minnesota.

He was born on May 5, 1932 in Aliceville, Alabama to Mary Susie Oliver and Green Jones. He passed on his 82nd birthday, May 5, 2014.

He graduated from Summerville High School, Class of 1951. He immediately enlisted in the United States Air Force as an aircraft mechanic.

He served at a number of Air Force Bases, including stations in Alaska, New Mexico, Texas, Michigan, and Minnesota, as well as serving overseas in Japan, Germany, England, France, Korea, and Viet Nam.

In 1963 he married Anne Carol Fleming of Hunstanton, Norfolk, England, in the town of Etain, France.

Ross had four children with his wife; Lt. Col. Bruce Jones, U.S. Air Force (retired), Glenville, New York, The Hon. Lindsay Jones, J. D. Decatur, Georgia, Capt. Andrew Jones, U.S. Army Reserve, Hudson, Wisconsin., and Annette Jones, RN, FNP, St. Paul.

Ross retired in 1973 as Chief of Maintenance with the rank of Master Sergeant after 22 years of military of service.
