Donald Nelson Nichols enlisted in the Marine Corps at the end of WWII. He served in the Pacific in the occupation of Japan from March 1, 1948 to July 21, 1948. He was honorably discharged on August 20, 1948. He re-enlisted in the Marines during the Korean War but was killed in Seoul, Korea October 3rd, 1950. Donald received the Purple Heart for the wounds resulting in his death.
