“James Silda Jr. was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army after completing the Army Reserve Officer Training Corps program and graduating with a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Silda will serve as a platoon leader with Minnesota Army National Guard’s 2nd Squadron, 194th Armored Reconnaissance based in Pine City.
He is the son of James and Barbara Silda of Moselle, Mississippi, a 2002 graduate of Eveleth-Gilbert (Minnesota) High School and has served in the military for six years.”
