Paul was born in 1942 in Red Bank, New Jersey. He graduated from Red Bank HS in 1959 and joined the Navy.
He spent 1959-60 at Great Lakes basic training and ET A school. In 1960-61 he served at NAS Quonset Point RI and in 1961-62 at NAS Brusnwick Maine.
He maintained radio, radar, and meterological instruments to support the NAS and the 6th fleet.
In 1963, he went to work for AT&T Bell Labs where he worked for 7 years as a TA and STA. He later worked as a communications engineer for 25 years at Fort Monmouth, NJ. He is married with 3 children and 4 grandchildren.
