He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the battleship U.S.S. Idaho.

He was born in Fertile, Minnesota on November 18, 1918, the son of Wilbert James and Trine Johanna (Sundet) Davis.

Mr. Davis died at age 89 on September 11, 2008, in Hermantown, Minnesota.
