Walfred Matthew Ollila was born on December 30th 1914 to Matti Mattsson & Susanna Sana [Hissia] Ollila in Orr, Minnesota. He attended Hibbing High School. Before the U.S. entry in WWII he married Lillian [Seppanen] on August 19th 1939 and they started a family.
Mr. Ollila was inducted into the U.S. Army on April 16th 1945 at Ft. Snelling, Minneapolis, Minnesota. Home of Record: Orr, Minnesota.
He served at the Headquarters, Overseas Replacement Depot during WWII.
Ollila received the World War II Victory Medal and was honorably discharged on June 23rd 1946.
Mr. Ollila died on December 3rd 1980 at 65 years of age in Virginia, Minnesota. He is buried at Greenwood Cemetery in Virginia.
