Vieno Mary Sophie Koski was born on May 16th 1917 to Erie & Mary [Kashi] Koski in Soudan, Minnesota. She went to nursing school at St. Scholastica and St. Mary's Nursing School in Duluth, Minnesota.
Ms. Koski enlisted in the U. S. Army on November 19th 1942. She was assigned to the U.S. Army Nurse Corps in the European Theater during WWII. She was commissioned as a 1st Lieutenant (1LT).
During R&R LT Koski married SSGT Joseph Walter Merberger on November 19 1943 in Temple, Texas. He was assigned to the Army Medical Corps. She was honorably separated on August 15th 1945. After the war they started a family.
Ms.. Mersberger died on May 4th 1988 at 70 years of age in Longmount, Colorado. She is buried at
