ANDERSON, Melvin John
Melvin T. Adolphson entered the U.S. Army in June, 1942, at Fort Sheridan, Illinois. Received basic training at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and attended Officer Candidate School at Fort Sill, Oklahoma and Camp Edwards.
Served as a First Lieutenant with the 125th Field Artillery of the 34th Division, in Tunisia as a forward artillery observer from the invasion at Salerno to the battle of Cassino, Anzio landing, to the Gothro line and in the Po Valley. He later transferred to a mortar battery.
Separated in January 1946.
