ZELEZNIKAR, Joseph
Joseph Zeleznikar inducted into the Army on September 19th 1941, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Duluth, Minnesota.
He served as a administrative NCO with the 489th Antiaircraft Automatic Weapons Battalion in Central Europe. He rose to the rank of First Sergeant. (1SGT).
SGT Zelznikar earned the following merits for his service:
- Good Conduct Medal,
- American Defense Service Medal,
- American Campaign Medal,
- European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 1 bronze battle star,
- World War II Victory Medal, -and-
- one overseas service bar.
Mr. Zeleznikar was honorably discharged on January 23rd 1946, at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
