He served as a Sergeant and machinist with the 4134th Army Air forces Base Unit and Squadron B in North Africa and Italy.

He was awarded the following: European African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with two bronze battle stars World War II Victory Medal.

Honorably discharge October 12, 1945, USAF Base, Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
