Edward F. Stampohar

Edward F. Stampohar entered into the Army on February 27, 1941, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Virginia, Minnesota.

He served as a Technical Sergeant and auto engine operator with the 440th Signal Heavy Construction Battalion in New Guinea, Southern Philippines (Liberation), Luzon, and Ryukyu Islands.

He was awarded the following: American Theater Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Theater Medal, two overseas service bars, and Philippine Liberation Medal with one bronze battle star.

Mr. Stampohar was honorably discharged on November 14, 1945, at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.

Reenlisted in the Air Force on November 15, 1945. Retired from the Air Force after 20 years on July 31, 1963, Amarillo, Texas.
