McCONNELL, Daniel James
Daniel James McConnell was born on July 8th 1977 to Lloyd Daniel & Beverly Ann [Johnson] McConnell in Duluth, Minnesota. He went to Alborn school.
Mr. McConnell entered the U.S. Army on October 24th 2002. He was assigned to C Company, 1st Battalion, 27th Infantry Division. He was stationed at Schofield Barracks in Kirkuk, Iraq. His rank was that of a Specialist (SPC).
SPC McConnell earned the following merits for his service:
- Bronze Star,
- Valorous Unit Award,
- Army Good Conduct Medal,
- National Defense Service Medal,
- Global War on Terrorism (Expeditionary),
- Global War on Terrorism (Service),
- Army Service Ribbon,
- Army Overseas Service Ribbon, -and-
- the Bronze Star.
SPC McConnell was tragically killed in action on on November 16th 2004 at 27 years of age in Al Anbar Province, Kirkuk, Iraq. He is buried at Union Cemetery in Hermantown, Minnesota.
