High school seniors and college students with a physical connection to St. Louis County, Minnesota, are encouraged to apply for the Mike Colalillo Medal of Honor Scholarship. The 2022 winner was announced by the end of November. Presentation of the scholarship occured during the 17th Annual Remembrance Dinner on Wednesday, December 7th, 2022 at 5:00pm.

Veterans Memorial Hall, a program of St. Louis County Historical Society, honors Mr. Colalillo by awarding annual scholarships to students who live in and/or go to school in St. Louis County, Minnesota.

Veterans Memorial Hall was established in 1910 and is a joint program between the St. Louis County Historical Society and military service veterans of northeastern Minnesota. Its mission is to gather, preserve, interpret and promote the rich and diverse human experiences of veterans, their families and communities.  There are more than 8,600 veteran stories on the website www.vets-hall.org.
